Set on private rural land Takiwantanga sanctuary aims to offer weekend farmstays to those with Autism and their carers. Caring for those with Autism is demanding and the stresses and up and downs of those living with Autism can take it’s toll. We aim to offer these families week or weekend short term breaks in our fully furnished guest wing, where they can live independently and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and interact with our many rescue animals. Meet Percy the peacock who comes every morning for his breakfast, or go pet the rescue horses, and watch the daily antics of the free range hens and geese. We also have ‘Patty’ a rescued Belgium Blue cow who comes to her name, and our gorgeous pigs, rescued too from an otherwise not so happy ending. Animals give so much unconditional love, and love to interact with humans, and give so much joy. ”
