In a new video, expert gastroenterologist Dr. Angie Sadeghi shares the truth about dairy and health problems. The video, which debunks a recent Milk Life commercial that guilts parents into giving cow’s milk to their children, is the first in a new series by Switch4Good. Spearheaded by silver medalist Dotsie Bausch, this coalition of athletes aims to create a dairy-free future.
Dr. Sadeghi sets the record straight, reminding parents that kids can get all the nutrients they need from healthy plant-based foods. “If you’re giving your children cow’s milk, even a little bit is way too much,” Sadeghi asserts.

Don’t let the dairy industry’s commercials fool you. Milk, cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products are not healthy. In fact, dairy is the number one source of saturated fat in the United States. Additionally, dairy consumption has been linked to prostate cancer in more than 20 studies, and a 2006 Harvard study found that women with diets high in meat and dairy increased their risk of breast cancer by 33 percent.

Shockingly, women who consume dairy products such as yogurt, ice cream, and cheese could raise their risk of mortality from breast cancer by 50 percent, according to an extensive 2013 study.
